The Effect of Integrative Positive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on Infertility Stress and Hope in Infertile Women

Abstract:
Introduction:Infertility is a complex life crisis that results in deep emotional and psychological pressures on couples. infertility and its treatment stages are areas of stress and hopelessness. The purpose of the present was to investigate the effect of a combined positive cognitive behavioral therapy approach on infertility stress and hope in infertile women.
Methods:The method of this Research was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest with control group. The statistical population of this Research was all infertile women referring to infertility treatment centers in Khorramabad city in 1398. The sampling method in this Research was 30 out of all infertile women who filed in 1398 in infertility treatment centers of Khorramabad city and were randomly selected and then divided into two experimental and control groups. The controls (each group of 15) were replaced. Then, under the same and simultaneous conditions, pre-test was conducted in the form of infertility and hope stress questionnaires from both experimental and control groups. Then the intervention was performed on the experimental group using the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approach for 10 sessions for 90 minutes but the control group did not receive any intervention. At the end of the sessions, post-test was again taken from both groups.
Results:The results of Multivarate and univariate covariance  analysis showed that intervention of positive cognitive behavioral intervention had a significant and Meaningful effect on reducing infertility stress and increase hope in infertile women (P <0.001).
Conclusions:According to the results of this Research, it can be said that the integrated approach of positive cognitive behavioral therapy had a significant effect on reducing infertility stress and increase hope in infertile women. Therefore, it is recommended that such treatments be used to promote mental health in infertile women.
